PlayFest Vision
Our goal is informed by our commitment to performing arts virtuosity. We aim to create a haven for diverse artists to develop and celebrate classic and contemporary literary and musical works from conception to completion.

Awards
- $3,000 cash award to the top three selected plays or musicals.
- A professional staged reading of the selected plays or musicals.
- Our fourth selection will be granted Honorable Mention and free admission to PlayFest Santa Barbara.
- Transportation and accommodations will be provided for all selected playwrights or composers/librettists.
- Media appearances, along with conducting interviews, seminars and workshops will be part of the residency.
- The selected playwrights and composers/librettists may be asked to participate in a project development workshop sometime during the summer following the festival. The honorees will be working with a professional dramaturge, director, and an assembled Equity cast.
