Tickets and Directions

No need to buy tickets! All events at PlayFest Santa Barbara 2014 are FREE to the public!

Arrive at the theatre early to reserve your seats!

The auditorium will open 30 minutes prior to each performance. The lobby will be open 1 hour before each performance.

All performances will take place in the Garvin Theatre Complex, located at Santa Barbara City College, West Campus on the 800 block of Cliff Drive, Santa Barbara, CA. Parking is FREE. Directions are on the bottom of this page.

“Three Views of the Same Object” Join us on Friday, January 24 at 7:30 PM for what the LA Times picked as CRITICS CHOICE! and describes as “Fascinating, haunting and certain to provoke post-show conversation.”

The reading will be followed by an audience discussion with acclaimed playwright, Henry Murray, PlayFest Co-Artistic Director, Jeffrey Meek, and the cast on how the play has developed to this point and to hear your thoughts on how the play should evolve from here. To learn more, visit the 2014 Season Page.

“The Oy of Sex” Come laugh with us on Saturday, January 25 at 7:30 PM for this adult comedy by Len Richmond (First Place winner, Alliance Repertory Company New Works Contest). “City of Light” Join us on Saturday, January 25 at 2:00 PM for this new, original musical comedy about the journey of self-discovery, followed by a talkback with the Creative Team and Cast. For more information, visit our 2014 Season Page. City of Light” will be performing in the Garvin Theatre, which is located on Santa Barbara City College, WEST Campus on the 800 block of Cliff Drive, Santa Barbara, CA. “EMOTIONAL CONNECTION through HOT OBJECTS:  A Playwright’s Workshop to Writing Emotionally Authentic Monologues and Plays.” Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 10:30 AM. This workshop, taught by playwright, Jeanette Farr, will be held on the lower level of the Garvin Theatre complex in classroom DM 134 from 10:30 AM until 12:00 PM. 

“From Page to Stage or Screen and Vice Versa” Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 4:30 PM In this panel, industry professionals discuss their experience in story development of stage, TV and film. This panel will take place in the Jurkowitz Theatre, in the Garvin Theatre complex, which is located on Santa Barbara City College, WEST Campus on the 800 block of Cliff Drive, Santa Barbara, CA.Parking is FREE. 800 block of Cliff Dr.  

FROM THE SOUTH:
101 North
Take the Bath Street Exit.
At stoplight (Haley St.) turn left.
At stoplight (Castillo St.) turn left
Come back underneath the freeway.
At stoplight (E. Montecito St.) turn right.
Stay on this road, it becomes Cliff Drive.
Go through two intersections with stoplights.
After you go through the second intersection,
get in the second left turn lane (very long).
Turn left into West Campus of Santa Barbara City College.
Drive straight ahead.  Park in any of the four
lots on the left side.
Theatre straight ahead toward ocean. 
Entrance on left side of building.
FROM THE NORTH:
101 South
Take Castillo St. Exit
Turn right onto Castillo St.
At next stoplight (E. Montecito St.) turn right.
Stay on this road, it becomes Cliff Drive.
Go through two intersections with stoplights.
After you go through the second intersection,
get in the second left turn lane (very long).
Turn left into West Campus of Santa Barbara City College.
Drive straight ahead.  Park in any of the four
lots on the left side.
Theatre straight ahead toward ocean.

Parking

Parking for performances is in lots 4A through 4D on the West Campus of SBCC. Parking is free and tickets are not issued during performances. Blue handicapped spaces are located in the lot closest to the Theatres. On weeknights, we share the parking with SBCC students attending classes so plan to arrive a little early to find a space.

Accessibility

The Garvin and Jurkowitz Theatres are both accessible for patrons in wheelchairs.  Both theatres have the assisted listening systems available for all performances.  Check in with the House Manager to get a headset if you need this service. Accessibility
